The Barricade is a Heavy class placeable gadget that creates a strong wall to take cover behind.
Effects
The Barricade can be deployed by placing it down on a nearby floor. It will absorb damage like a regular structure. Opponents can destroy it by attacking it. Items that deal high structure damage will have an easier time removing a Barricade.
The Barricade is made up of 5 panels placed in a horizontal line, with each panel having the same amount of health.
Usage
The Barricade can be selected as one of three gadgets of any Heavy build loadout.
While the gadget is held, an indicator will show a potential placement of the Barricade as a blue hologram in front of the user. If the hologram is red, the gadget will not fit in the target location. The secondary trigger can be used to rotate the placement hologram. Using the primary trigger, the placement can be confirmed to deploy the gadget. It can be only deployed on floors, not walls or ceilings.
The gadget can also be retrieved to restore a charge, by interacting with it for a few moments while looking at it from up close.

Properties
Gadget
Placeable — Can be placed attached to a surface. An indicator shows the exact target placement.
Multiple Charges — Can be used 2 times. When a charge is used, it automatically recharges over the cooldown time.
Retrievable — Can be picked up after being deployed to restore a charge.
Deployment Limit — 4 Barricades can be deployed at a time. An excess deployment causes the oldest Barricade to disappear.
Barricade
Attached — Attaches to a surface upon deployment. Sticks to the surface even if it moves. Weighs down any carriable object it is attached to.
Solid — Has its own collision, meaning it blocks bullets and contestants can stand on it.
Destructible — Can be destroyed if its health is fully depleted, such as through hits from bullets or explosions. Teammates can also destroy it.
Reshapeable — Can be reshaped by the Data Reshaper into a piece of decor by opponents.
Permanent — Does not disappear by itself.
Usable by Opponents — Can be used by opponents to their advantage.
Strategy
Strengths
- The Barricade has the highest amount of health out of any gadget per segment, let alone when adding up the health of every segment.
- A relatively high amount of Barricades can be placed compared to other gadgets, making it strong on Power Shift.
Weaknesses
- The Pyro Grenade can be thrown at a Barricade, making it unusable as a proper barrier as anyone hiding behind it will burn.
- Explosions with high structure damage such as the RPG-7 can immediately breach a Barricade.
Tactics
- The Barricade can be combined with the MGL32. After placing a Barricade, the user can fire their grenades at the ceiling while the target cannot retaliate as the user is taking cover behind the Barricade.
Item Mastery
Item mastery XP can be earned by deploying the Barricade and by blocking incoming damage with it.
Each time a certain XP threshold is reached, the item levels up. This does not improve the item, but rewards a unique item customization.
