Cash boxes are carriable objects that appear in the arena periodically as vaults. Contestants are tasked with transporting the cash box to a cashout station to start a cashout. A cashout is the only way for teams to extract the cash from a cash box.
Overview
Vaults appear in the arena at the beginning of the game and whenever a cashout station finishes extracting a cash box. They are the only source of cash boxes. They must be unlocked by contestants, after which a cash box is ejected. Contestants can pick up the cash box and carry it across the arena.
If the cash box is not being carried, an indicator of its location is visible to all contestants. Otherwise, the indicator will only be visible periodically, outlined by the team color of its carrier.
The first team to insert the cash box into a cashout station will be the initial owner of the cashout. This strategical advantage turns carrying the cash box into a contested objective where enemy teams are likely to attempt to intercept the team carrying it.
Cash boxes have an assigned numerical index on their indicator, ranging from 1 to 6.
Value
In Quick Play, the value of all cash boxes is $10,000. In Tournament Knockout rounds, the value of cash boxes increases on every second cash box.
Index | Value |
---|---|
Cash box 1 & 2 | $10,000 |
Cash box 3 & 4 | $15,000 |
Cash box 5 & 6 (and beyond) | $22,000 |
In the final round of a Tournament, the value of all cash boxes is $25,000.
Strategy
- It is possible to throw the cash box into the cashout from a distance to start the cashout a few moments sooner.
- The cash box can be thrown forwards, to give its carrier the opportunity to reload or deploy a gadget while running, without losing any time.
