Mascots

THE FINALS has a variety of mascotsǃ From a friendly egg to an adorable plushie cow, there's plenty to go aroundǃ

Nama Tama

Nama Tama is the game show’s mascot - who emphasizes the inviting element of the game. It is described as extremely optimistic with a passion to celebrate successes, even terminally so in the face of being cracked or squished. They were the first mascot introduced, and the one we have the most variations of. The name "Nama Tama" is a combination of the Japanese words nakama (meaning "friend") and tama (meaning "egg.")

“Namatamas speak a high-pitched language called Namatish, often simply called "Egglish", due to the egg-shaped nature of the namatamas. This high-pitched language is characterized by elevated pitch levels in speech. Namatamas use higher pitches for expression, conveying emotions, and grammatical nuances. It can convey excitement or urgency and varies across cultures. Prosody elements like rhythm and intonation play a role in the overall impression of a high-pitched language.”

Moolah

Moolah is a cute plushie cow that can be found in-game as an accessory for the lower back and as a badge as a part of the cosmetic options for THE FINALS contestants. It first appeared as a part of a bundle of cosmetics and slowly grew in popularity due to it being one of the only named entities besides Nama Tama.

Origin

The origin and significance of Moolah is not yet clear, but as the game went into beta and more people noticed the cheerful aesthetic of Moolah, it slowly gained popularity among the community which was rewarded with a Discord sticker and emote for users to freely use within the Discord server.

Besides the in-game appearances Moolah has also been used in the Easter Egg Hunt on which Moolah is displayed next to a contestant resting on a sign in Seoul.

Community Usage

Moolah's popularity is lead by its use for intruding otherwise regular activities on the Discord. A good example is Moolah's constant appearance in polls, even when not being linked to one of the possible answers that are being offered. Furthermore, Moolah is known for the so called Moolah Train, a regular occurrence where one person in the community posts the Moolah sticker which others follow-up on with repeating the sticker for as long as possible.
